Tamie’s interview!

Hello………..Tamie here. I’m gonna interview my mom now…

Tamie: Hi mommy…

‘Super’mom: Hi. Can you hurry up…i have stuff to do.

Tamie: Okay, Is being a working mom hard?

‘Super’mom: Sometimes. It was alot harder when you guys were younger as we could not really leave you with the maids as we didn’t really trust them. And both your dad and i had jobs so we couldn’t stay home with you guys, so we relyed on the grandparents which didn’t really turn out well either. But now you guys are older and its alot easier as you can sort of look after yourselves right?

Tamie: Yeah….right…? Anyway, Do you enjoy being a mom?

“Super’mom: Of course! As a mom, i feel like you are a part of me!

Tamie: What’s the worst part of being a mom?

‘Super’mom: When you guys are being difficult! It’s so hard to control you! But after you scold, nag and punish, the reward is watching you guys learn your lesson and behave.

Tamie: Was it like, hard to give birth?

‘Super’mom: You were the hardest as you were the first so it hurt alot but the pain was over immediatly after you came out. Your siblings weren’t so painful as i was kind of used to it.

Tamie: Okay, last question. I can tell you want to go and do your work

“Super’mom: Yes

Tamie: No matter what your kids do, will you always laove them?

‘Super’mom: Ofcourse!!! After all, they are my kids! (Stands up and walks of)

Okay, that’s the end of my interview thks and bye!!:)

An interview with my own Super Mommy

To get a better idea of the role a SuperMom plays, i decided to interview one, and who could be a better candidate than my very own mother!

Jenny: If you could rant on anything related to motherhood, what would it be?

SuperMom: The god awful stretch marks from prenancy and never being able to wear a bikini.

Jenny: Is giving birth as beautiful as it sounds, do you actually hear the chorus of angels whilst in labour?

SuperMom: I would’nt know i was entirely knocked out.(Ah, the miracles of modern-day medicine.)

Jenny: What do you think it takes to be a SuperMom.

SuperMom: Well i would’nt call myself “Super”, i make mistakes very often.(She’s just being humble, my mom is AWESOME.)But i think it takes a patience and understanding to be a good mother.

Jenny: What would you say are some of the difficulties of being a mother?

SuperMom: When you have rebellious and often disobedient children,(HEY!)you may sometimes find it hard to keep your cool.

Jenny: Do your children really mean the WORLD to you?(Please say yes, please say yes….)

SuperMom: OF COURSE THEY DO!(A very obvious answer)I did’nt go through a c-section for nothing!

Jenny: Do you believe that all mothers are good mothers, like you?(Kissing up is the sincerest form of flattery.)

SuperMom: No, not all mothers are as affectionate and loving as others, but with enough perseverance and experience, they could be?(Wise words from sensei.)

Jenny: What is the best thing about being a mother?

SuperMom: The having children part.(Hmmm… very elaborate.)

Jenny: Which stage would you say children are hardest to handle?(I’m referring to other children, i am and have constantly been a delight.)

SuperMom: The stages before potty-training(There is no denying it, this is a pretty darn gruesome interview).

Jenny: What would you say is the main role a SuperMom plays?

SuperMom: Trying to raise her children right.(And succeeding, if i do say so myself.)

Jenny: Do you think i have what it takes to be a mother?(Awkward question alert!)

SuperMom: Well not for a long time you won’t! But in time to come i think you will be an excellent mother.(Awww… what a sweet pack of lies.)

Wellll….. that concludes my interview. What have i learnt besides the fact my mom is no. 1 in singapore, KL and some say Batam? That motherhood has no step-by -step guidelines, it is something that is nutured in time.

What is a mother?

There has been a previous definition given for this term. However, i believe that is a vague technical definition that does not fully portray a mother or her role in a family. A mother is a woman with a child, someone who relies on maternal instincts to raise her offspring, a mother showers her child with love, concern and affection. They may nag at us at times, but this is only to help us differentiate between right and wrong or to try and deter us from committing an offense or performing harmful acts. Being a mother is a tough, and often impossible task that takes patience, determination and a mother is rarely ever appreciated or recognized for her herculean efforts and devotion. A mother hardly ever asks for anything in return, except maybe to be shown a certain level of affection in return. A mother is the ultimate sacrificer and is willing to lend a compassionate listening ear, and offer advice to her children in times of need.

I believe all mothers are good mothers, and all moms are super!

My advice to you!

I searched the meaning of the word mom and the first definition was :

1. a female parent.

Ummm…Okay…So now you noe what a mom is.  My mom is SUPER! Yesterday, I was like really full, cuz i ate like one blueberry waffle and one fish cake and one…Okay i noe that’s not alot but still…i was full and my mom let me have soup instead of eating like alot!
It’s okay, I noe you don’t understand…it’s okay…but i’m trying to say that you may not find your mom SUPER but soon you’ll be gratefull. Cuz when they nag and scold it’s because they care bout you! I know i sound like those “get closer to your parents” talk show host. Whenever they scold you (as in your mom) just be calm and stay cool and noe that your mom’s love you!:) Ooookay!:) That rhymes! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Oh yah. And whenever you say “I HATE my mom!” Just imagine what life would be like if your mom died and she was NEVER coming back again! Yah. Than you’d REALLY regret saying that!:) Don’t forget that your mom’s LOVE <3 you!

Here for you always,

Tamieeeeeeee

Welcome to our little Project!

Firstly, welcome to our project or ” social experiment “.
Our main aim is to explore the lives of working mothers of this century or as we like to call them, “SuperMoms”.
We will be conducting surveys go deeper into the topic of juggling motherhood, social life and working life.
We will be asking them to share the responsibilities that are taken by a working parent.
We will also be posting video interviews, pictures of our “SuperMoms!” and even little poems we write about our mothers.
We hope this project will help us develop a greater understanding and appreciation for our working mothers.

HOPE YOU ENJOY!
 -Their loving daughters.
